Dimensions given are for our standard buildings. There can be small variations in dimensions due to moisture content. Our buildings have an exterior framework dimension of 3600mm x 3600mm and the wall height is 2140mm at the rear and 2440mm at the front. A 2' overhang at the front of all buildings is standard.
Timber Treatment
Timber is pressure treated using the best German treatment from Wolman.
Construction
Walls are made in 1800mm wide panels using 75x47 timbers with studs at approximately 590mm intervals. (this can vary on some panels) The exterior is clad with Ex 125x22 mm feather edged timber from timbers grown in Britain and pressure treated for an extended life expectancy.
Wooden Skids
Made using composite treated timbers constructed to create a 150x50 Framing. Due to the overall length, the skids are supplied in kit form but is easily assembled. Notches are ready cut into the skid for the purlins which are 100mm off the ground to allow the building to be mobile and towed. Metal covers are supplied for the openings to protect the skids from the horse's hoofs.
Metal Barges / Trim
Supplied for the front and sides of the roof and metal trims are provided for the building corners and openings. If these are not requested additional feather edged boards are supplied as cover strips.
Kickboards
Supplied in 2400x1200 sheets using 11mm OSB sheets
Roof
Constructed from 100x50 purlins and rafters fixed with joist hangers from the top of the walls. The purlins extend 550mm beyond the front walls and are supplied in 4200 length box panels made from polyester coated steel which has been developed for the aggressive demands of the agricultural sector.
